iOS 15.5 update is now available for all iPhone and iPad users. It does not contain any apparent major novelty but offers a lot of small useful fixes.
This could be the final iOS 15 updates, as Apple is expected to announce the upcoming arrival of iOS 16 during its annual WWDC 2022 conference, scheduled for June 6-10.
The list of new features of iOS 15.5
The new features present in the iOS 15.5 update are as follows:
- Apple Podcasts: added a new setting to allow better storage management, limiting the number of episodes stored on your iPhone, and automatically deleting the oldest ones.
- Home Automation: Fixed the issue that could cause home automation triggered when people leave or arrive to fail.
- External links: Reader apps (books, video streaming, audio streaming, and newspapers) can now use external links, and therefore indirectly direct users to a payment method outside the Apple Store.
- Wallet: Added Send and Request buttons in the Apple Cash section, to make it easier to transfer money from the Wallet app.
- HomePod: A Wi-Fi signal bar now indicates if the HomePod has a connection in the Home app.
How to download the update
The update is available now, you can install it on your iPhone or iPad with the following steps:

- Select Download and Install.
As with iOS 15.4, the list of compatible devices remains unchanged, ranging from the latest iPhones to iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
